10 Things to Know Before You Go
1. Event Location:
Green Man Brewery

2. Parking:
There are 2 large parking lots adjacent to the event for VIP ticket holders only. For all other parking, there is a reserved lot at the Tourist Ballpark (2-4 minute walk) with a shuttle service available. Taking Uber is highly recommended.
3. Attire:
"Art Party Attire" really means anything goes, so put on whatever makes you feel beautiful or handsome. Or you could embrace the Mythology vibe of the party honoring "Athena to Zeus". We will have complimentary coat check inside.
4. Tickets:
If you purchased tickets in advance, we will have your names at check in. Advance ticket sales close at noon on Friday, March 4th. After that time, tickets can be purchased at the door. General Admission for $125 and VIP for $175.
5. What's Inside (besides great art)
- Complimentary small bites by some of Asheville's favorite chef's and restaurants.
- Well-stocked bars with Green Man Beers, a selection of wine and a craft signature cocktail to enjoy!
- Complimentary coat check.
- Musical performances by local Asheville musicians and other artist surprises!
6. Silent Auction and Mobile Bidding:
The Silent Auction will close at 9pm.
Auction items will become available for preview on our website starting in January. Please visit opendoorsasheville.org to see the amazing works of art!
All bidding will be done using mobile devices, so come fully charged. Should you need assistance, we will have volunteers available to answer questions and facilitate bidding via iPads.
Upon entry to The Art Affair if you haven’t pre-registered your device, you will be assisted through the process. We strongly encourage you to pre-register your mobile phone number as you purchase your tickets ahead of time. Doing so will significantly decrease your check-in time the night of and also give you access to early bidding days before the event. You will receive a text on March 4 with a link to the mobile bidding site to confirm your name and bidder number. Click on the link in the automated text message to log in and start bidding!
There are many ways to participate in the Silent Auction. You can set a maximum bid amount on an item, and you will only receive a text if you are outbid. You can just bid the next increment, and you will receive a text when you have been outbid, prompting you to up your bid. For those with fears of commitment, you can choose to just watch your favorite items from your device and then swoop in at the final moment with a winning bid!

8. Is My Artwork Purchase Tax Deductible?
Yes, but only the amount paid above the fair market value of the artwork noted on your receipt can be considered a charitable donation, so bid up those artworks. It's for a worthy cause after all.
9. Do I have to be Present to Win?
If you are unable to attend The Art Affair, you may register to bid as an absentee bidder. Please click on the link below to register as an absentee bidder or call Dianne Lewis at (803) 609-2520 BEFORE 4 pm on Friday, March 4th."

10. How Do I Get the Work Home?
Your winning purchases may be taken home after they are paid for or at the conclusion of the evening. We will have on-site packaging assistance available.
